About M2 Power

M2 Power was founded by Sjef Peeraer and Dirk van Gogswaardt.

Sjef Peeraer holds an MSc in Energy Technology from Delft University of Technology and an MBA from INSEAD (Fontainebleau, France). Before M2 Power Sjef worked for an R&D- and production company of a new type of wind turbine. Prior to the wind business Sjef worked for the Science division of Reed Elsevier, where he was the creator and manager of the science search engine Scirus. The last few years Sjef has focussed on clean (electric) power technologies and been active in the field of LiFePO4 battery technology, battery management systems and chargers with his company SP Innovation.

SP Innovation introduced the first Plug-In Prius on the European continent.
SP Innovation performs lectures in battery technology.
SP Innovation cooperates with Amberjac Projects (a British company that produces LiFePO4 batteries in a semi-massproduction manner for large vehicles and high tech applications)
SP Innovation has advised several parties on battery technology, such as SenterNovem (part of the Dutch government).
SP Innovation has performed several ‘verhicle-to-grid’ studies, for example for Statkraft Norway.

Dirk van Gogswaardt holds an MSc in Business Administration from the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam, with a specialisation in innovation and new product development. When working at an electric scooter importer in 2006 he developed an interest in battery technology, as that was a major issue in acceptance of the product then. From 2007 to 2009 Dirk worked for a company that designed a consumer electronics product. Being responsible for the product development he lived in the south of China for three periods of three months to be close to the manufacturing partners and ensure that the initial sketches resulted in working prototypes. Dirk has a strong interest in developing new and innovative products and the Asian culture.
